What is so wrong about blackface (just face paint, no lips or anything)?
As an Indian-American with brown skin myself I see nothing wrong with white people wearing black face or body paint if they are doing so without the intention of offending African Americans. What about artistic ideas such as like in that Vogue or whatever magazine with blackface. I didn’t see how that could be offensive to anyone (it’s not like they were saying “a white chick in black paint is hotter than an actual black woman”, it was just art). Also what about whenever black people happen to wear WHITE face paint? Isn’t it kind of a double standard? I guess it’s just because I’m Libertarian and I see such racial divides as human divides too. Please explain the irrationality?
I dont think it makes a difference if you are “Indian American” because at the end of the day Indians are not black. And I agree I’m black and I just see it as art when it is used in fashion.
