Question for all people who have or had braces…?
…braces = an oral appliance consisting generally of wires or bands, used to correct misalignment of the teeth and jaws by exerting pressure on the teeth and their supporting structures.
I have some teeth that are not straight, on the front part of my lower jaw (or what is called the mandible…). Can they be made to stay in a straight way? There are 2 teeth just in front…
But take in consideration, I’m 23 years old. Can my teeth be made straight, taking into consideration the fact that the mandible is the hardest bone of all the bones of the human body (I heard this thing somewhere, but I forgot where and when, exactly…)…?
My question is about the hardness of the lower jaw… At my age of 23, is my lower jaw still soft enough so that it can be molded and my teeth be made straight?

I’ve known people in their 40′s who’ve gotten braces and their teeth have been stragihted. The adolescent years and pre-adolsescne in some cases are most ideal to correct the problem early on so no other problems will develop.
I had problems with my front teeth in my lower jaw. I had to wear braces for three years on my lower teeth and they barley moved during that time. (The major problems were corrected, I had two teeth that criss-crossed eachother) The didn’t completly straighten, but in order to do-so I’d have had to have surgury) You’ll have to talk to an orthodonist and get a judgement on the conidtion of your teeth.
Braces correct the problem by loosening your teeth and then moving them. After braces the retainer lets them grow back into the bone. So you can have braces at virtually any age.
