What did Joan Of Arc/Jeanne D’Arc look like?
I would like to do a historical cosplay of her however I haven’t had much luck finding *fairly* accurate information on her looks and dress.
I don’t want some crappy ‘fashion’ costume of her or anything. I would like some real descriptions of what she might have worn as a young girl, as a soldier, and as a prisoner of the English. If you have some references pictures or can direct me to some websites, even better.
The most I’ve heard from ‘eye witness’ descriptions is that she wore all white armor except on her face and carried an axe.
Or if you just can give a general description of what peasant girls, soldiers, and prisoners might have worn at that time, that works too.
I’m also interested in her hair and eye color, and her hair length.

Eyewitness reports describe her as “a short, sturdy woman, with black hair. She wore man’s clothes (this was in fact the main reason for her death sentence) and her hair had been short-cropped all around, just above the ears, similar to the hairstyle of contemporary, fashionable men. The clothing consisted of a shirt, shorts, a doublet (padded undercoat), hose that were attached to the doublet, tight-fitting boots, leggings, a short coat of mail with a solid breastplate, and an overcoat that reached until the knees. On top of all that she usually wore a luxurious tabard and a black hat. She carried weapons, like sword and lance, and she had her banner and her shield specially made, with her own heraldic symbols.”

A description of Joan read: “What was Jeanne really like? We can only answer that we know very little indeed. We know that she was about five foot two in height, thickly made, muscular, and very strong.
Her eyes were far apart, and somewhat prominent. Her hair was black. She was reasonably good-looking, but by no means pretty. Her complexion was distinctly dark. She had a red birthmark [by] her left ear, and was gifted with a low, sweet and compelling voice. That is absolutely all we know of her physical characteristics.
