Trying to reformay my computer to get rid of a virus?
So, I’ve had my desktop for a few years now, and it’s worked pretty good for me so far. It recently was infected with that Windows Internet Security Virus, and I’ve been pulling my hair out ever since. I got a laptop to replace my desktop, and transfered all of my important files onto a portable drive, so I’ve really got no use for the desktop anymore. Thing is, I really don’t want to just throw it out, sondiering I had also recently purchased a new graphics card for the darn thing. So I’d like to give it to my brother after I clean it up. Problem is, I don’t exactly have the disk for it, and my computer won’t let me reformat for some reason.
So does anyone know how I can wipe the emory without the disk, and maybe just put it on basic settings with cleared memory? I’d really appreciate it.
Pull out the hard drive, connect it to another computer with malwarebytes installed, scan your drive, after it’s clean put it back in your system, give system to your brother.
