Why use an ugly plastic claw clip to put up your hair?

Some women spend a lot time putting on your makeup, picking out the right outfit, choosing the right jewelry including earrings and then you put an ugly plastic claw clip in your hair.

The only reason I can come up with is it might not be ugly to them. These clips are also very easy to use, this could be another reason.

I know what you mean though. I saw this lady, with a great outfit and from the front, her hair looked beautifully put together, then she turned around. The whole look was ruined by that clip. I kept thinking if she had a different clip in, how much better the hairstyle would look.
