Can’t decide between 2 PC’s – please can you help?
I am looking at 2 different desktop PC’s, please can you help me decide which is the best one:
OPTION 1:
AMD Athlone 64 Dual Core x2 5000+
ASUS M2A-VM PCI-E Motherboard (dual VGA & DVI output)
500GB Serial ATA 2.0 Hard Drive (with 16MB Cache)
4GB DDR2 RAM Memory
20 speed Lightscribe DVDRW
ATI Radeon X1250 Graphics Card (with 1GB integrated hypermemory)
22″ Widescreen TFT (with 5MS response time)
……..all for £399 (from a UK Ltd. company advertising on Ebay)

……..all for £429 (from my local PC World store)

I’d personally go for option 1, the price is less, and the specification is higher. Usually I am biased towards Nvidia and Intel, since that tends to be one of the best combinations, however the 2nd option is likely to be outperformed in this case by the first PC, and the price of the first is also slightly cheaper. £429 is still a lot to pay for the second option, but then you do pay a premium at PC World
I’d say go for option 1.
Alternatively, you could settle this by buying a PC custom tailored for yourself, for a lot less money, if you are geniunely stuck with this. I recently bought a higher-spec PC for around the same price from Pc Specialist.co.uk
