I need some help for a Sims 2 PC Edition?
On the PC edition, it has a button that says “Custom (insert whatever here)”. I notice that some Sims have odd hair colors and, though I tried to click the button, it wasn’t there. Well, it was but it was faded. Anyone know how to fix this or is there something I’m not seeing?
I’m picture the Create A Sim page – am I right? The best one I can think of is Custom hair. Custom hair (and other custom things) are what is called custom content. The easiest way to get it is to download custom content from the Sims 2 website under “Exchange” (by downloading user uploaded Sims, pets, stories, or lots) and installing the file to your Sims game. I absolutely love custom content – it makes the Sims so pretty!

You can also gets loads more custom content in other places on the interweb (like Modthesims.com), but I prefer to stick with the ones people upload on the Sims 2 site. However, it’s not recommended to download much custom content if your computer is slow.
After downloading Sims with custom hair, you will be able to toggle that button. Many times, though, custom content hair is still listed in the normal hair color bins (e.g., a brunette custom hair will still be in the brown hair selection, with that “custom” indicator in its icon. I’ve learned from having a LOT of custom content that you will need to look around).
*Custom content clothes, items, makeup, etc. will still be found in their usual bins. For all of them except for items, I want to say, custom content will always be sorted first in front of what came with the game (i.e., not custom content).
