How can I view an .mpeg file properly on a PC?
I have been emailed a 2Mb .mpeg movie clip (attachment) from a reliable source. When I open it, Windows Media Player (RealPlayer) warns me that the file I am attempting to play has an extension (.mpeg) that doesn’t match the file format and playing the file may result in unexpected behaviour.
There is vision but it is compressed horizontally (all the people look skinny). and there is no sound. What do I need to do or download to play it properly? Thanks.
You should be able to download that media player from www.filehippo.com.
On my computer I have different media programs to view or listen to media files. I have also downloaded codecs that permitted programs to play the audio and video of a typical format that it may not normally. Look in the video section and you should be able to peruse and find a program that will work for you.
The software will stipulate if it is shareware, freeware, demo or open source software. I have used file hippo as a source for programs for about two years without a problem.
