How can I dress more mod-style nowadays?
I’ve recently watch the film An Education,
I love Jenny’s style and I’d really like to try and imitate a 60s/modish look,
but not so that I look like I’ve jumped out of a photo album, it’s only for everyday wear,
I’m keen on pastel shades and things and I’m not too confident in my dress sense
so hopefully some tips that aren’t too ‘statement’ kind of thing, aka clothing hair and makeup?

Can I suggest you watch the film Quadrophenia which was filmed in 1979 and basically about Mods and Rockers. I know this was well before your time but expert and critical opinion regard this as an ideal expression of the 60′s movements.
Basically Mod is the style of being modern or up-to-date in fashion and culture. The problem is that looking like a Mod of the 60′s is very different to looking like a Mod in the 10′s. HOwever you have stated you like the 60′s look. So I would suggest you stick to tailored jackets and pencil skirts, low heels, hats and long jackets. Coloured blouses and shirts, layered vests etc.
Why don’t you have a look online for some vintage stores near to where you live, or if you are from London check out Camden market for plenty of options. Find a couple of peopel in the 60′s who’s style you like and basically rip off their outfits I suggest you run a search on Twiggy in the 60′s and you will get some good ideas.
