There is an important party tomorrow night that i am bartending for?
This is for some really important people. I am asking what is the ratio of liquor and mix for their drinks? I have bartended before but it was for friends and it was ok if i made the drink too strong but these people are i guess “big wigs” in companys that we are impressing and i dont want to mess it up. Please help!
Every drink gets a shot of liquor. A shot is 1.5 ounce. Lets just say someone orders a rum and coke. You would fill a glass with ice, pour about 1 to 2 ounces of rum, then add coke. Never stir a drink with coke or sprite. If you add the ice first, the liquor second, when you pour the coke or sprite, it will mix itself. You can give them a little cocktail straw if you want. So, to answer your question…..1.5 ounces of liquor to mix ration. Drinks with more than one liquor would be about 1 ounce. If you make a long island tea, you would put 1 ounce of each liquor, fill with coke and a shot of sour mix. Basically, most people will drink simple coke and liquor drinks, also known as a highball. Remember, Ice, Liquor then Soft Drink. Other drinks that dont have coke or sprite will need to be made in a shaker, then poured over an iced glass. Good luck.
