I personally believe everyone has some sort of a sexual fetish. How far they choose to explore it or whether or not they are open about it is another issue however.
There are sooo many sexual fetishes out there such as the arousal of feet, fur, leather, colors of hair… whatever have you.

Supposedly, at least to Freud (whatever value you can take from it), the only abnormal sexuallity is the lack there of. By this theory, you could say that its “normal” to have a sexual fetish. However, as you said, how far you choose to express it is an entirely different matter. And diagnostically speaking, it isn’t necessarily a fetish until its actually dysfunctionally interfering with your life. So in fact, fetishes aren’t common, but preferences or sexual habits are.
