Can human hair be fossilized? If so, what is the longest single strand of human hair ever found?
If not then are there any estimates of how long the longest strand of hair in human history grew? Was this hair from an old caveman woman? Would it have been grey? Could she have used it as a tool or a weapon? Did it serve as her “clothing”? Was she likely to have lice?
When did humans begin to cut their hair?
How long might one’s hair grow if never cut over the course of a lifetime?

The hair of most people is both constantly falling out and growing, as you might have noticed by looking at your hairbrush. It is my understanding that a single strand of hair, if it is never cut, will usually grow to about waist-length before falling out. There are, of course, some people who can just grow and grow their hair.
There is a apparently a man with 6.3 meters of hair, for instance.
There is some evidence that people used hair. Human hair nets have been found, but it doesn’t seem this was too common. I imagine that ancient humans cut their hair much for the same reasons we do: it got too long to manage, and they liked it to look a certain way.
