dying hair extensions?
I recently, well, about 3 weeks ago, bought these hair extensions in JET black. and when i mean, black, they seriously are like the blackest black ever. and it looks ridiculous on me. i go them off ebay, so i can’t return them for another colour. they are 100% real human hair. is it possible to put a bleach over them to make them a more, darker brown than black? i have read so many mixed answers on this, some say its fine, some say its not… i don’t know what to do.
The extensions will be fine. If you know what your doing then yes you can take it up to a higher color. Those people are probably telling you this because they don’t have any skill and coloring. If you do then go ahead, if you don’t and don’t want to go to a colorist then you have to learn how to color hair yourself. There are plenty of forums, blogs, vlogs and other internet outlets so you can learn how to bleach your hair to a lighter shade.
Don’t listen to the naysayers. I would recommend that you use 30 vol high lift developer with Kaleidocolors and process ONE AT A TIME no matter how time consuming (especially if you a beginner). Watch it like a hawk! If you use Kaleidocolors Tonal Powder Lightener Blue you won’t have to use a toner after because it is already built in. This is a mild bleach. Once processed, rinse the extension (rinse thoroughly to remove all traces of bleach.) This process will allow you to get an even color all over.
And don’t even THINK about getting a 40 vol it’ll beach too fast and if you take your eye off you might not get the color you want or worse, you’ll fry it.
