dying human hair extensions?
My hair is black now and I have black clip in extensions made of human hair. I really do not like my hair black. I would like to dye both my hair and hair extensions light brown and I want them to turn out the exact same color. However I’ve heard different peoples hair absorbs dye differently, so I’m afraid my extensions won’t turn out the exact same color as my hair and I really do not want to ruin my extensions dying them because they are expensive and I can’t afford to buy more. Do you think it’s a bad idea to dye my extensions and my hair. Has anyone ever tried this??
bad idea. your extensions have been specially colour treated so they last longer than normal human hair should do.
i dyed my extensions (clip-ins) from red to blonde and completely wrecked them, ended up having to buy new ones. ebay have some decent ones in atm though. i paid £25 for 18″ blonde clip ins a few days ago, ready sewn, and theyre fantastic!
black hair is a nightmare to redye anyways, but extensions will be even worse. you’ll probably end up having to strip your hair and i wouldnt strip your extensions because youll take all the chemical treatment out of them, and because it doesnt have the natural oils that normal hair has, it wont fix itself, the hair will just burn.
