What hair style options do black women have besides…?
Weaves,Wigs,Braids,Perm or Natural Afro. The reason I am asking this is my hair has been in braids for a while and I want to take a break so my hair can rest. My hair is becoming really thin and fragile from the braids and I have natural hair. I want to rock my hair in more natural styles later but I want my hair to take a rest with little to very little manipulation(combing,put hair in a pony tail,etc.)
I’ve spoken to a couple of my friends and family on what to do but no one has a sure set option. Weaves: I heard that weaves can hurt the hair just as much as braiding after a while.
Wigs: Would be acceptable if I didn’t work out hard five times a week. Wigs tend to fall off esp if there’s a huge gust of wind, too much sweat, etc. Lace front can be damaging to the hair line with the glue and tape and may fall off because of sweat.
Perm: Will never do because it is damaging to the hair and won’t give my hair the rest it needs.
If you get a full cap wig it will not fall off with a gust of wind unless it is too big. I wear full caps sometimes they fit. I don’t blame you on the lace front because some of them are scratchy. When I work out I do a individual braid or twist out then take it down. You can comb it back and put a ponytail on it and won’t have to do anything to it for a week or two even with working out unless you are sweat profusely.
