Is it true that wearing your hair in a bun damages your hair?
I have long black hair and when I go out I tie it up in a bun to stop my hair flying everywhere because of the wind.
I have heard that this damages the hair and scalp. Is this true?
What would you suggest I do instead of a bun?

Tight buns could give me a receding hairline? I might have to try loosening it a bit as a receding hairline will look horrible on me.
It doesn’t damage your hair, but a tight bun doesn’t allow your scalp to circulate blood very well. Massage your scalp every night for a little bit to help.
Any rubberband, or tight ponytail, bun, etc. can damage hair if it pulls on it. It can eventually cause breakage if it’s too tight.
Just loosen it up a little if you are worried.
