Does keeping my hair braided help it to grow?
Iam an black African American and my hair is totally demanged from constantly putting hair glue and perms in my hair now that I noticed that my hair isn’t as long as it wAs I’m tryna let it grow back and become more healthy so I’m thinking of keeping my hair braided and putting a wig on occasionally but will keeping my hair braided help it to grow please help
Yes it does help it grow because you aren’t using heat or grooming it to where it is getting damaged. It worked for me three years ago when my hair was ear length by chemical relaxers, then I got it braided for 10 months and it was a little past shoulder length when I relaxed again. I wear braids now as I transition to natural hair from relaxed hair and it is helping my natural hair grow in without damage. Remember that your hair will be very dry so make sure you get a braid spray to keep it moisturized. Moisture is the best thing for our type of hair.
