Your views on Human Growth Hormone?

My 3 year old boy was diagnosed with a disorder when he was 9 months old, It effects his vision and his pituitary. Other than wearing glasses and being a little small he is totally normal. His endocrinologist suggested GH but we cant start him until age 5, I would like to build his confidence from the inside but Many members of my family think the GH would be a good Idea. He has a very tall family, I (his mom) am 6 feet, and his little brother is looking like he is going to be very tall too. My 3 year old is expected to be around 5 feet tall. Anyway, I was just interested in some input, similar experiences, veiws from short men or people who have put their children on GH or decided not to.

I know it seems like a big deal now, but i know a boy who was put on GH around 11 years old after beating brain cancer 5 years earlier which had stunted his growth. He was my boyfriends (much) younger brother who i babysat and took to movies and out to lunch and things. He would confide in me that it hadn’t ever occurred to him that there was anything wrong with him, that it made him feel bad that his mother just couldn’t deal with him being short the way he was ‘meant to be’, as he put it, and most of all that the GH made him feel funny, and sick.
It all seemed a little traumatizing.
He had already made lots of friends, and was perfectly normal other than his size. Really active, sweet and funny.
If you do put your boy on the GH, just remember that without short guys in the world, who would the short girls marry?
