Plant holder does not have holes in the bottom – is that ok?
I bought a 1′ tall x 4′ wide ceramic flower pot but it does not have holes int he bottom. Will it be ok or do I have to drill some holes in the bottom? If it is 100% necessary, is there a technique to drill it so it won’t crack? I have a tall grass like plant in there- looks like 20+ tall blades of grass- each about 1′ tall.
It should have drainage holes, and the way to get them is to find a piece of wood slightly smaller than the dimensions of your pot, and set the pot upside down on top to where the wood is flush with the bottom of your pot. The wood will take a lot of pressure away from the ceramic while you drill the holes, and you should get a nice drainage hole(s) at the bottom. Take your time and use a masonry bit to drill. Good luck
