What can I do to adjust the sharpness or vividness of the color of my new Dell XPS M1530?
I got a new computer three days ago. When I watch the YouTube movie clips or a dvd on it, I notice that the color on the new computer is not as sharp or as vivid as my old dell Inspriron or on my Sony TV. I felt that the color of the new Dell is plain; or it is like covered by a light gray transperent veil. What can I do to adjust it? If cannot, then I probably will return it. Thanks for your help.
It may have to do with the monitor or the video card, or both. You should be able to adjust settings on the monitor with the buttons on the front of it. Try adjusting the contrast and try different color schemes. It should give you an option to reset the monitor to defaults, so don’t be afraid to change stuff.
If adjusting the monitor doesn’t help, it may be the quality of your video card. A standard VGA card will not look as good as a DVI card. If you still have you’re old computer/monitor, you might want to test it by swapping the monitors or video cards.
