I tried to dye a jet black wig lighter using peroxide and bleach but it didnt work.?
I have a human hair wig which will be used as part of a costume. The wig is jet black,I want to make the colour lighter. I have did a strand test on it, using bleach and then peroxide, neither made even the slighest difference.
I was originally scared that doing so would ruin the wig, but it hasnt and the hair is still soft, and strong without breakage.
What type of dye do you think was originally used to colour the wig, its a very strong dye and will not fade. Im thinking it must be some type of fabric dye?
Im really curious to know what the dye is, as ive never come across anything so strong.
Id appreciate any suggestions on what you think it is and what may lighten it.
did you use hair bleach or detergent bleach?
they’re completely different chemicals. bleach won’t actually make your hair lighter it’ll just break it apart.
