if i bleach a light purple bow , what color will it be after its bleached?
Depends on how the purple color was created originally. If it was with a purple dye, chances are you will end up with just a lighter version of the color it is now (assuming the fabric will take bleach without falling apart). Purple colors can also be created by blending blue and pink dyes – chances are the two colors won’t react to the bleach exactly the same, so you could end up with light pink or light blue or anything in between.
The only way to tell for sure is to snip a sample from an unobtrusive spot and test it. Start with a 10% bleach solution (1 part bleach to 9 parts water), put your sample in, and time to see how long it takes to get to a color you like (if it does) – rinse thoroughly afterward.
Another option for getting the color you want is to use some florist’s spray coloring (larger craft stores like Michael’s, Hobby Lobby, and A.C. Moore carry it). You can’t use it to turn black to white, but you can lighten up most colors, change pink to peach, etc.
