HELP! What to do about to highlights gone bad? Too many, too light, wrong color!?
I finally decided to get highlights last fall, and the first round just lightened up my light brown/dark, dark blonde hair a little bit. After that, every 6-8 weeks i got more highlights (partial the first 2 or so times, then full at least 3 times.. Once i just got my roots colored.. yikes..) So basically, my hair is a mess. I love the color, but it is just not natural looking and too much to keep up with. How can I fix it so that I don’t have to color it just one shade of light brown (too blah.. afraid it will come out one color, not like my beautiful multi-tonal dark blonde it used to be..) but i dont have to keep getting highlights? I’ve put my poor hair through too much, and I just want to figure out if I should ask to go the way of one, light brown coloring, or lowlights?? Which would be healthier and look the most natural?
Do low lights that are the color of your natural. Maybe even have your stylist add 2 different low light colors to give even more dimension. If you feel too blonde all ready don’t get the highlights again. The low lights will break up the color and give it more dimension. It will also be less maintenance for you since you are putting something closer to your natural all through. Low lights also will not be damaging to your hair since it is deposit only. You get more damage from the lifting You may also be shocked if you go all one color brown all over since you are used to seeing the lighter color and since you stated that you like the variation between the blonde and brown you might be bored with flat color.
