My Hair Needs Ur Help):?
Ok So My Hair Is Very Kinky Curly, Thick Nd Shoulder length I Would Like To Str8en it but its so dry nd damaged i wear it in a banana clip everyday nd it gets so boring i need new hairstyles nd directions on how to do it plz help
My hair is the same way. Here is my advice and I hope it works for you:
1) For curly hair, if you plan to straighten it only once in awhile, don’t. What happens is that you pull apart your hair’s natural curl and dry out already dry hair (curly hair tends to be drier than naturally straight hair) and then, when you wash out your hair, you are left with a big mess of frizz that no mousse or cream can fix. Better to work at moisturizing your hair before you pick up an iron, and then when you do that, make sure you use a heat protector. You also need to make sure you are using a quality iron – ceramics work very well. This makes a huge difference in how shiny your hair will be when you iron it straight.
2) To moisturize your hair, instead of investing in expensive conditioning treatments, try putting some olive oil in it, applying low heat, and then washing it out, about once a week. This really does work miracles.
3)Try not to wash your hair too often. Since curly hair is already dry, shampoo doesn’t help and the natural oils your scalp produces are wiped out by it. The less you wash your hair, the better. As for conditioner, a bit pricey, but Biolage is amazing. Costco sells a knockoff called Kirkland’s conditioner that is a generic Biolage in a huge bottle that costs about $6 dollars and it is wonderful!
3) A really good mousse for curly hair is the Got 2 Be Sexy Volume, in a red bottle. A little of that and a bit of hair serum works wonders.
