will a 12guage 100′ extension cord run a 1/2 hp 8.3 amp motor?
The cord will not overheat with 8.3 amps. There will be a voltage drop of about 2.6 volts. That would be about 2% if you are using 120 volts. That is not too much voltage drop. A 12 guage cord is OK.
