does 3M marine 5200 sealant dry hard enough to sand?
I am doing a project and can’t stop it from beading up… it won’t be a problem as long as i can go back and sand it once it’s cured.
also, is bubbling normal? i don’t think they are big enough to affect my project, but i’m just curious. it’s 100% humidity right now, if that makes a differnce.
What do you mean, beading up? you can try to sand it, but because it remains flexible after curing, the best way to remove excess is with a razor knife. bubbling indicates a chemical reaction, or moisture. Humidity levels shouldn’t affect 5200, except to slow the cure time. This is the only product i will use when mounting anything below the waterline ( outboard mounting bolts, skegs, rudder hardware, etc). We more commonly refer to this as “seagull shit”.
